Had high hopes when we went in. Fun decor celebrating the history of Alabama football. The employees were super nice, and it was clean. I tried the Mac and cheese and potato salad as my sides and they were both pretty good. The sausage that came on the sausage plate was not so great. It was burnt, and dried out. Not the best I have ever had, needless to say I was very disappointed. The sauce was ok, nothing great. They wanted more money for extra sauce, for some reason that drives me crazy when restaurants charge extra for 5 cents worth of sauce to help the dry sausage go down….not going back any time soon. Hopefully it was just a bad day for Bama sausage.

Good burgers, good onion rings, not exceptional, but better than average. Folks are always friendly and price is reasonable. Lots of blue collar worker customers, so I expect good food and fair prices. This place delivered. Update: I had the smoked ribs and wings plate. Not as smoky as I like, but very good. I keep coming back!

Bama is a hidden gem. While it doesn’t have the name recognition of Dreamland or Archibalds you should definitely give them a chance. On this visit I had the smoked wing plate. It consisted of smoked wings, a slice of loaf bread, potato salad, and baked beans. The wings are smoked on premises in a pit attached to the building. They cant be beat in Tuscaloosa. Great flavor and falling off the bone. I have had the pulled pork in the past and can report it is above average. The staff is friendly and can be chatty with the regulars. Booths and 8 tabletops for seating.
